What’s ahead for NoN in 2026?

Dear Readers,

We have big plans for the coming year.

Among other things, we aim to beef up coverage of land use and the schools by adding dedicated staff, and to do more deep dives into key issues. We’re planning a series of events where thought leaders and newsmakers can discuss current events.

We also want to expand our coverage into other areas of interest to Norwalkers, including arts and culture. And we are adding formats such as podcasts and videos to augment our reporting.

We need your support to make this happen.

Managing Editor Ashley RK Smith has done an amazing job in her first year, meeting people, learning what makes Norwalk tick, and putting in long hours reporting on it.

But she can’t do it all herself, try as she might, and our goal is to hire at least one reporter to support her efforts. That’s where you come in.

Eighty percent of the NoN budget goes to staff, and the more we raise during NewsMatch and beyond, the more important Norwalk news we can bring you.
