NORWALK, Conn. — The Norwalk Registrar of Voters will conduct a public audit of ballots from the Sept. 9 Democratic mayoral primary later this month, officials announced Friday.
The audit is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 25, at 10 a.m. in the Community Room at Norwalk City Hall, 125 East Ave. Members of the public are invited to attend and observe.
Ballots to be reviewed include those cast at Brookside Elementary School, Roton Middle School, and the Norwalk Public Library, along with absentee and early voting ballots. The Registrar’s Office will conduct the process in collaboration with the Norwalk Town Clerk’s office.
Officials said the audit is designed to confirm the accuracy of voting machines and ensure the integrity of the election process. Although it is expected to conclude within a few hours, it will continue until all required steps are completed.
All audits are randomly selected by the Connecticut Secretary of the State’s office, according to the notice.
For more information, residents can contact the Registrar of Voters office at (203) 854-7996 or visit Room 103 of City Hall.
