If you haven’t yet heard, today is Giving Tuesday, an international day of giving. We like to call it Giving News Day.
As a reader of NancyOnNorwalk, you recognize the value of a hyperlocal news organization. You know we work hard to cover what’s going on in this city of 90,000. We report on Common Council and Board of Education meetings, Zoning hearings, Harbor Commission meetings — whatever will keep you keep you informed about life in Norwalk.
But we need your help. Local journalism that makes an impact is free to consume, but expensive to produce.
This is a make-or-break year for us, as we are looking to raise enough money to hire additional staff. Nancy Chapman, our sole employee, has done an amazing job for the past decade. But it’s time to hire some editorial and operational support.
Our target is $75,000 by year-end – an ambitious but attainable goal.
From now until Dec. 31, NewsMatch will match your new monthly donation 12x or double your one-time gift, up to $1,000 per individual.
Please help us reach our goal. If you’ve already donated, please reach out to a friend and ask them to help us out. If you’ve been waiting to donate, do it now! Any amount will make a difference, and all donors count. And all donations are tax-deductible.
Norwalk’s stories need to be told and will be—thanks to people like you.
