Dear Readers,
If you weren’t a NancyOnNorwalk reader you would never have heard that Norwalk was on the list of potential locations for a new international airport. While not true – really, not – that was one of our most read stories of 2025 – which in the real world has been quite a year:
- After a busy campaign season and many many debates we have a new mayor and Common Council members.
- After months of debate, finger-pointing and the threat of teacher layoffs, we got a new budget that saved teacher jobs.
- Wegman’s and Target came to town, but sadly Ripka’s Beach Cafe is closing.
- National issues became local when ICE arrived in town
Through it all, NancyOnNorwalk delivered the news you can’t get anywhere else. But we cannot do this without your support.
This time of year, we ask community members your support during our annual NewsMatch campaign, our most important fundraiser. Until Dec. 31, NewsMatch gives us the opportunity to double the impact of donations to NancyOnNorwalk.
Here’s how it works: During the campaign, NewsMatch will match your new monthly donation 12 times ($10/month yields an extra $120) or double your one-time gift, both up to $1,000 per person. There also are bonuses, like for adding 50 new donors. Donations are tax deductible.
We aim to add reporters to cover even more Norwalk news, and to improve our website to make it easier to find, share, and discuss the city’s important issues.
If you are a NancyoNorwalk reader and have been thinking about becoming a donor, this is absolutely the time to do it.
If you already donate, we’re extremely grateful for your support. And if you’re able, please consider doubling your donation, or perhaps just chipping in a little extra to make sure we take full advantage of matching funds.
If you believe, as we do, in the power of independent local journalism, please give today – and double your impact through NewsMatch.
With gratitude,
The NancyOnNorwalk Board of Directors
