To the citizens of District 25 in Norwalk and Darien, we all know elections, like life, are about choices. A choice was made back in 2005 to be represented by Bob Duff. Since then, Norwalk and Darien, indeed the entire State of Connecticut, has experienced numerous changes.  Some good and some not-so-good.  While no doubt Sen. Duff can claim numerous successes, the issues facing us today are much different than 18 years ago.  And now, it is evident Sen. Duff’s interests have changed. His focus seems more about what’s best for Hartford and not what’s best for Norwalk and Darien.  State funding for the Norwalk budget used to be around 10%.  It is now around 5%.   Nowalk schools are constantly ranked lower than surrounding areas. Drug use and suicide attempts by high school students has reached record proportions, yet Sen. Duff seems more interested in building monuments than seeking solutions.

His relationship with the police department is -at best – unproductive. Current legislation prevents the Police from properly doing their jobs. Crime is spreading and becoming more of an everyday concern.  The removal of Qualified Immunity for Police Officers undermines those who are occasionally asked to make split-second life and death decisions while he maintains Unlimited Immunity as an elected public official.

Energy costs are skyrocketing due to this insane idea that we need to reduce or eliminate our use of oil, gas, coal, natural gas, and nuclear power for a zero-emission world in which everything runs on electricity.  Most electric power is generated by the very sources he wishes to eliminate and those that do rely on sun and wind are either completely unreliable or even more environmentally unfriendly when you look at the amount of concrete needed to construct windmills, the number of birds killed by wind turbines (aka Bird Cuisinarts) or the minerals that need to be mined (in many cases by child labor) to make the batteries work.  In a recent letter in response to citizens’ concerns about the astronomical jump in electric bills, Sen. Duff sought to blame Republicans for a vote in 2017. Shifting blame is not leadership.  It only helps to avoid making difficult choices.

On top of all of that, Sen Duff openly hates at least 40% of his constituents (if you don’t think so – just follow his X/twitter posts) and ridicules or slanders anyone who happens to voice a differing opinion.

My name is Martin Tagliaferro and I seek to offer you a choice about who can better represent Norwalk and Darien.  My background is engineering, bridge design and construction management. When it comes to problem solving, I’ve learned that reasonable people can find reasonable solutions to any problem.  The trick is finding – and voting for – reasonable people. I ask for your support, welcome your questions and invite you to learn about my positions and views on how to bring about real solutions to the issues facing us today.

  1. Please win. Norwalk has suffered from incompetent and corrupt practices for decades we didn’t even buy the power plant to turn into a park even though it’s sold for 4.5 million dollars. We have done nothing to build housing at the exclusion of all other activities we can’t even get decent playgrounds for the kids because pickleball is more important. Much of that money for these building projects is coming from Hartford for sideways ideas that do not have long-term economic benefits for us at the same time the government is spoken on low income and undocumented people to get housing in those developments. Completely ignoring the needs of all the engineers and technical people that have moved to this region because of what’s going on in Wilton

  2. Thomas Belmont

We need Tag for the future. Our Current representation in Hartford is getting stale and sour, benefiting only the few. It has had its long, predictable tiring run, and now we need a change. Tag has hands-on experience in the good works of building a city for real, not virtually. That experience is invaluable. I’ve met him. He’s a persons person as well as builder of big things for an ever growing and changing city. He works with people, all kinds, regardless of popular description, regardless of political color. His feet are grounded in the needs of Our place in Fairfield County. He has my vote for change.
