NancyOnNorwalk Publishes Reader-Submitted Questions for Democratic Mayoral Debate

NORWALK, Conn. — Ahead of the 2025 Democratic mayoral primary debate, NancyOnNorwalk invited readers to submit questions for the candidates. The response was overwhelming, with residents offering queries that touched on nearly every aspect of city life, from growth and affordability to schools, the environment, and leadership.

The full list of questions is now being published for the community to review. The submissions are anonymous and were categorized by topic, including: Vision & Leadership, Education & School Funding, Growth & Development, Housing & Affordability, Budget Priorities, Charter Revision, Immigration Policies, Environment & Sustainability, Community & Quality of Life, and Public Safety.

Questions ranged from broad priorities, such as candidates’ top three goals as mayor, approaches to affordable housing, and how they would handle budget pressures, to more specific concerns, including the Manresa site, transportation management, and Norwalk’s response to ICE arrests.

By releasing the full list of questions, NancyOnNorwalk aims to reflect the depth of community engagement in this election season and ensure residents’ concerns remain at the center of the conversation.

This is a great list. Nearly all of these questions are worthy of a Town Hall where elected officials and residents can look for answers and share their thoughts.

Twelve of the thirteen questions I submitted are listed above. Alas, none were used for the debate last week.
