Kingdom Restoration Hosts Citywide Block Party on Raymond Street

NORWALK, Conn. — A coalition of more than 40 local organizations, community leaders, and city agencies is preparing for a citywide celebration on Saturday, Aug. 23, when a Block Party will take over Raymond Street from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event, hosted by Kingdom Restoration and organized by longtime pastor Kevin Profit, aims to create a family-friendly space where residents can connect with one another, enjoy food and music, and access resources from local partners. Free ice cream will be available from noon to 2 p.m.

Profit said he hopes the event will strengthen ties across Norwalk neighborhoods. “It’s a way for us to come together as a community and celebrate what makes Norwalk special,” he said in an interview. “Right now, more than ever, our town needs to come together.”

Agencies ranging from public safety departments to health organizations will join with churches and nonprofits to share information and engage residents. Profit emphasized that the block party is meant to be inclusive, drawing people of all ages and backgrounds.

“There are so many organizations working hard every day for our city,” he said. “When we bring them all together in one space, it shows people that help and support are right here in Norwalk.”

Profit, who has served Norwalk as a pastor for 14 years, said he is grateful for the wide range of support the block party has received. “This is not just about one church or one group,” he said. “It’s about the whole community showing up for each other.”

The Norwalk Block Party will run Aug. 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Raymond Street.
